Day 9 - going to Munich

Today started off well and nothing really bad happened but our train was downgraded from an international type train to a commuter  train so it wasn't as comfortable and there were no amenities.  The good news is that we had lots of leg room and it wasn't crowded so we could stand whenever we needed a break from the seats and also it was only a six hour ride.  John also fixed some sandwiches for us from the breakfast buffet so we at least had  lunch.

The great news for the day is that our new credit cards were here when we arrived so we should be able to use them anywhere.  We were able to activate them from here.

Munich is different from Hamburg so we will need to readjust to a different city.  We walked to centrum and listened to a 3 person combo play for a while.  They were very good -- a clarinet, accordion and bass.  There were actually a lot of street musicians playing, lots of people everywhere. We ate at a German restaurant and had typical German food.  We really enjoyed our meal.  Food is cheaper in Germany than the Scandinavian countries.

The color orange is "in" for European women.  They wear it with every color imaginable.  Shoes are a variety of colors and styles.  No certain style seems to be "in".  Men are wearing  the longer shorts -- similar to the old pedal pusher length and top siders are very popular.  No particular hairstyles.
